Thank God it’s thursday!… Wait, what??
Well, it might not be the same feeling a friday gives when you know you have a full weekend ahead of you, but I had quite a few aha moments today, and I wanted to share them with you here on my blog.
First thing: I’m losing my job. The economy is not good here in Italy. At the start of september, after coming back from holidays, my employer said to me that they are going to downsize the business operations, so they are cutting costs and people (figuratively speaking, I hope…). Most probably I’m going to be unemployed by the end of this month, September 2012. Why? I do not care about it. The thing is that it’s not a bad thing. Why?
Today I spoke with my mentor, Alex Jeffreys, during a teleseminar I have each week with his mastermind group. I asked him about what should be the best way to replace my income only through Internet Marketing in two months.
He said: build a membership site!
Ok… right… a membership site? Technical aspects aside (I’m not afraid of them), my concern is that I might not be able to deliver a steady stream of new juicy premium content everytime (let alone traffic and subscribers).
But if we think about it for one moment, we might be able to recognize a similarity with writing a blog. In a blog you manage your posts, writing fresh, new, juicy content worth of our readers’ time and attention. Also, we need to manage the community and the technical part of it.
On a membership site, that’s the SAME! But with a tiiiiny little difference: You’re paying for it You, the customer, are paying for content. Which should be super-duper high quality, premium platinum content. How the hell am I going to learn how to write it?
Also, how about subscribers? I’m not able to drive more than 12 unique visitors per day on this very tiny blog, what about a membership site? How am I going to drive traffic to it?
I don’t know the answers to these questions, yet. Alex pointed me on a membership site video course that I already own but I always refrained to watch it, because I always thought that a membership site is too big of a project for me. Too advanced. But now I need to make it, desperately.
So here’s my plan, and my pledge to you, my dear readers.
I’m going to write an update on my blog every saturday. In this update I’ll share my tasks of the week regarding the membership site I’m going to build, the results in terms of traffic and money (big party when I’ll achieve those results), and also some how-to’s if you’re interested in the subject.
I want to state here and now that I never made a dollar online, my blog’s traffic is very low (12–15 uniques a day). So I’m really starting from scratch.
I want to show you great results, so I can inspire you to do the same, or better than me. We deserve this, we deserve to be free from work and live our dreams.

I am really sorry to hear that you will be losing your job. I do know exactly how you feel, being made redundant in the past myself; and at the moment am working a contract job whilst doing my online business, which also looks like it may be ending shortly.
The only advice I can give is to keep pushing yourself and stay absolutely positive (which from your Blog post, sure looks like you are). A positive mindset will help you to achieve better results, decrease stress, increase productivity, and make you feel much better in general; all of which will lead to successful and positive results.
I do hope that helps, and good luck with putting a membership site in place. Alex Jeffreys is awesome and definitely an inspiring guy.
